Policies and Procedures
Future HSC has an extensive set of policies designed to ensure our services are delivered in accordance with our Ethos and Values including our commitment to treat everyone with respect and to provide appropriate accommodation alongside professional and compassionate support.
We have over 50 internal policies with a specific set of policies designed to cover our Housing Services.
The main body of our policies are divided into four groups:
- Administration – Policies including matters such as Data Protection and Information Security
- Health and Safety – Policies including matters such as Fire Safety and Lone Working
- Human Resources – Policies including matters such as Confidentiality, Equal Opportunities, Disciplinary and Grievance
- Service Delivery – Policies include Adult Protection and Complaints, Suggestions and Compliments, and Service User Development and Involvement
As ever our commitment to people is key and, with this in mind, we have identified the ‘essential core’ of our policies and procedures framework which is a small group of documents that focus on the health and wellbeing of people: service users, tenants and staff. Due to their importance, we have selected these documents to make available to you here.
The ‘essential core’ consists of:
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy and Procedure
- Confidentiality Policy
- Health and Safety Policy and Procedure
- Lone Working Policy and Risk Assessments
- Complaints, Compliments and Suggestions Policy and Procedure
- Whistleblowing Policy
- Data Protection Policy
Induction and training
On the first day of their employment with us, a new staff member begins the process of becoming fully versed in our framework of policies and procedures. All new staff are enrolled onto the Future HSC Mandatory Training Programme. Our initial Induction Programme requires staff to undertake in-depth work on the ‘essential core’ policies. Familiarisation with the body of our policies then continues though local Induction and Future’s ongoing Training Programme for staff.
Our policies are reviewed and re-approved by our Board of Directors annually or bi-annually as required, taking into account any relevant legislative or regulatory changes. Finally these changes are made after appropriate consultation with service users, tenants and staff.
